9 Tips For Staying Healthy While Traveling, According To A Retired Physician

Now that people are getting back to traveling for work and for play, here is a good reminder of how to stay healthy while traveling.

Hepatitis C Basics

July 28 is World Hepatitis Day. It is recommended that all adults over the age of 18 be screened at least once for Hepatitis C, which is transmitted through contact with infected body fluids, and can cause chronic liver disease as well as cancer.

Are you aware that lung cancer can be detected early? Annual Screening is available via CT scan for those that meet criteria.

COVID – 19 Update

COVID-19 incidence is improving but continues to spread in high numbers locally. Please wear a mask while indoors in public. If you become infected, there are prescription medications available to reduce the duration of symptoms, but they must be started within 5 days of the start of symptoms. Please call your doctor if you are infected and may be at high risk of complications.

Pfizer and Moderna are now approved for 6 months – 5 yr old children. We are not stocking these vaccines in our office as we do not have a high volume of patients in this age group. Please contact either pharmacies or your local health department for availability.
